An Appalachian Thru-Hike consists of a 2,198 mile traverse from Springer Mountain, Georgia and ending at Mt. Katahdin in Maine. Most people take anywhere from 4-6 months to complete the journey. We are setting off in late March with a goal to complete by end of September. It’s hard to believe that over a year has passed since we first discussed this adventure and now the time is here! We’ve interviewed a number of people throughout the process, spoken to numerous gear heads and watched countless U-tube videos. We are as prepared as we will ever be. Thanks for tuning in to share the journey!
A special thanks to Scott, Grace and Rosario…all previous experienced thru hikers who shared their passion for the trail and their real world experiences, good and bad. Through those discussions we were able to work through questions and concerns and gain confidence in the “doability” of the trek but also understand what it would take to persevere.
A special shout out to Usha, Mani and Kirena for all your support to get out into the woods for hikes throughout the winter and your accompaniment on a very wet and cold gear shake out overnighter that was very critical in gear testing.
Thanks to all the support and interest from our family and friends, many of you who we hope to see along the way!
